Stop Being a SaaS-Hole! Simplify Your Tech Stack in 2025

Dec 16, 2024

If you’re anything like me, you’ve tried one software app after another in an ironic attempt to simplify your day-to-day operations. Then one day you say to yourself, “OMG, I have officially OD’d on software tools. I am a SaaS-hole!” HAHA!!

“SaaS-hole” is a playful term I invented to describe someone (like me!) who has become overwhelmed by the number of software tools they’ve opted into.

(As you may know, SaaS stands for “Software as a Service” and is a relevant concept in both our personal and professional tech-oriented lives.)

The purpose of this end-of-year Blog – my holiday gift to you– is to help you STOP being a SaaS-hole by simplifying your tech stack (and multiplying your impact) – in 2025 and beyond!

List and Limit Your Current Tech Tools

Make a list (spreadsheet recommended) of all of the current software applications to which you are subscribed.

Then determine each tool’s purpose/value and frequency of use.

Ask yourself if you are currently investing in un-used or duplicate tools. If they are un-used and/or duplicate AND paid apps, cancel ASAP.

The good news is if you cancel a tool that you later need, you can scoop it up again so long as you can make the case to at least one other person that said tool is truly filling a vital gap.

Align Your Tech Stack with Your Top 5-10 Business Needs

I’ll share our "tech stack" (list of technical tools) as an example - Business need listed in bold followed by the corresponding tech tool(s) we use:

  • File Creation/Sharing/Storage: Google Business Suite
  • Customer Relationship Management: PipelinePRO
  • Communication and Project Management: Slack/Asana for internal and Gmail/PipelinePRO for external. Zoom for both
  • Website/Blog/Funnels: GroovePages for website/Blog and PipelinePRO for funnels/analytics
  • Social Media: Canva for design creation, PipelinePRO for scheduling/management, Streamyard for Live streams across platforms (LI, IG, FB), Linktr.ee for all business links
  • Automation + AI = Intelligent Automation: PipelinePRO for automated workflows and email sequences and ChatGPT4 for content prompting and brainstorming
  • Payment and Finance: PipelinePRO/Stripe/Quickbooks/LivePlan
  • Cybersecurity: LastPass

We have replaced 7 SaaS tools (calendars, email marketing, opt-in pages, automated funnels, social media scheduling, memberships/courses, and digital agreements) with 1-- PipelinePRO!

Disclaimer: I have been so impressed with this comprehensive software (and their customer service) that I have recently become a PipelinePRO Certified Partner... Happy to answer any questions you may have!

Use a Scheduling Tool to Increase High-Converting Activities

Ask yourself, What do you want more of, and what do you want less of in your business? Then make decisions that will result in your desired outcomes.

For example, if you want more organization and less stress, use a scheduling tool such as Calendly or Acuity (or PipelinePRO, in our case) to prioritize allocating specific time for more high-converting activities like 1:1 calls with ideal clients.

To Your Success!
